About Me

bridget clegg

I'm a digital designer with over 13 years of experience in online media and ecommerce. I am currently the senior digital art director for a group of brands at Hearst Magazines: Popular Mechanics, Runner's World, Bicycling, Best Products and Biography. My time is split between the hands-on design of article art and layout; working with product designers on site styling; digital content strategy and production; and mentoring the designers and producer on the digital art team.

I bring my visual design and photo experience into the product design projects I tackle, blending brand identity, graphic design and both user experience and user interface principles. My process for any design project starts with visual, competitive, and user research, exploring top level needs before wireframing, designing and prototyping.

As a freelance designer, I've managed email marketing strategy and execution, designed party invitations and games, and created social graphics and animations. I also like to put my journalism degree to use to write honest articles on beauty, home and lifestyle products.

When away from my screens these days, you can find me knitting, cruising around on my old green Schwinn, or recounting something paranormal I heard about on a podcast.
